For a large segment of us, social media and pop culture constitute the principal way that we learn about others. Unfortunately, however, media representations are often rife with stereotypes.
Find an image of how one cultural group is negatively depicted and one image of how the same cultural group is positively depicted in our society (in the movies, on TV, in the news), and share your thoughts on what messages your example sends about individuals in this cultural group. Then, based on your learning this week, “correct” any incorrect information/ messages presented in your example. What is correct or incorrect about what is presented in your example?
